The Esoteric Practitioners Association (EPA)

The Esoteric Practitioners Association (EPA) is a branch of Universal Medicine instigated by Universal Medicine to monitor and accredit the modalities that were founded by Universal Medicine.

EPA Accredited Practitioners of are truly complementary in their approach and work cohesively with conventional medicine, allied health and medical professionals.

In order to be accredited, all practitioners must pass an annual assessment and demonstrate continuing professionalism,
integrity and capability to the standard required by the EPA. All EPA practitioners are fully insured, and live and abide by a Code of Ethics and Conduct which has been described as of the highest standard in healthcare worldwide.

About the EPA

The Esoteric Practitioners Association (EPA) is Universal Medicines in-house accrediting body for practitioners of the esoteric modalities as taught by Universal Medicine.
Although its entire principles, dedication and living way have been practised since 1999, the formal association was established in Australia in 2009, and since then has expanded to be an international organisation, establishing a sister company in the UK / Europe in 2013.
The Esoteric Practitioners Association is an accrediting body, run by Universal Medicine, for practitioners of the esoteric modalities who are truly complementary in their approach to
work cohesively with conventional medicine, allied health and medical professionals.
In order to be accredited, all practitioners must pass an annual assessment and demonstrate continuing professionalism, integrity and capability to the standard required by the Esoteric Practitioners Association. All EPA practitioners are eligible to be fully insured, and live and abide by a Code of Ethics and Conduct which has been described as of the highest standard in healthcare worldwide.

The Esoteric Practitioners Association is the most comprehensive model on this matter where practitioners, in choosing to abide by the EPA Code of Ethics and Conduct, live in a way that is harmless to themselves and others to the best of their ability.
This includes choosing to avoid any behaviour or activity that would impact on the clarity, quality and purpose they present to a client, in the full knowing that the way their life is lived outside the treatment room, is carried through into the treatment. The two are by no means separate; in fact they are one and the same, an energetic fact which is a cornerstone of the Esoteric Practitioners Association, and which stands it apart from all other associations in healthcare.

For the Esoteric Practitioners Association, this is essential, as no true healthcare can be offered if the practitioner is not living a way of true healthcare within themselves.
EPA practitioners are leading the way, in choosing to live with self-responsibility and awareness of how their choices impact themselves and those around them. Thus the quality of service they offer to their clients is second to none.

The Esoteric Practitioners Association sets a standard of professionalism and integrity that is exemplary in the healthcare industry and its respect for and work alongside conventional medicine is a natural extension of this.

How and Why did the EPA begin?

The Esoteric Practitioners Association was founded by Universal Medicine to deliver a standard of healthcare that is clearly needed.

The alarming increase in illness and disease, alongside all the behavioural and lifestyle problems being witnessed on a prolific scale amongst mankind, young and old, indicated that, as an obvious and known fact, humanity is not truly well.

In addressing these ills and dilemmas the EPA presents a model to provide people a quality of practitioner they can trust – where a practitioner is first and foremost about Energetic Integrity and Energetic Responsibility, and therefore, practising in true service for the client (and not in any way for self). This is an important point, as it is well recognised that there are many practitioners who ‘feed’ off their clients – whether for recognition, a sense of importance, being the ‘helper’ or the one that ‘saves’, or doing it for money, and so the list goes on.
In the case of the esoteric modalities, it is known and
taught that no true healing is ever ‘done’ to another –
the healing is done by the client themselves.

Therefore, there is a humbleness in the practitioner, whose role in the process is to present a quality and clarity that enables the client themselves to heal. This is significant – and a fundamental basis of the way that EPA accredited practitioners work.
And so began the process of launching the association that would establish a standard of practitioner that offered true healing, and through its foundational piece, the Code of Ethics and Conduct, it offers this way as a simple reflection of the integrity lived by those who founded the Esoteric Practitioners Association, primarily Serge Benhayon, of Universal Medicine.

Over the years, many thousands of people have experienced the Esoteric Modality Healing Courses.
Sacred Esoteric Healing was the first launched for the wider public audience, and although its sole focus of delivery is not specific to producing practitioners, many have been inspired to bring this quality of healing to their family, friends, colleagues, and subsequently practitioners changing to a new way of healing. The modalities of Esoteric Massage, Esoteric Chakra-puncture, Esoteric Breast Massage and Esoteric Connective Tissue Therapy soon followed, and thus formed a large body of people practising the Esoteric Modalities worldwide.

This expanding activity of practitioners and people practising and sharing the esoteric modalities inspired further the necessity for an association needed to support the modalities and assess the quality of practitioners so that the public could receive a standard of healing equivalent to what they had been receiving from Universal Medicine.

The Esoteric Practitioners Association accreditation became a stamp of assurance, so to speak, for the public, that the practitioner was living up to the standards of the EPA Code of Ethics and Conduct, the standards simply being a written version of what the founders themselves lived and practised in their own personal and professional lives.

And so was the EPA founded, and today it leads the way in healthcare, through its dedication to the true wellbeing of clients – the public at large. Each practitioner is assessed on an annual basis as to their quality of living, and therefore as to whether they represent all that the EPA is and was founded for, in their life and in their practice of their chosen esoteric healing art.

The modalities accredited by the EPA

The modalities accredited by the Esoteric Practitioners Association offer the client a place of repose and deeper awareness, and facilitate the opportunity for change in behaviours, attitudes and beliefs that may not support harmony in the body and in life.

The Esoteric Healing Arts allow us to return to this repose, a stillness deep within, which is found within the inner-most heart of every man, woman and child, the ‘inner-most’ being the ancient meaning of the word, ‘esoteric’.

All of the modalities accredited by the EPA are practised by those specially trained in the true meaning of energetic integrity and energetic responsibility – essentially meaning they know exactly what it means to not harm their client, and to offer a quality of grace and stillness from which the client can heal themselves.

The accredited modalities include:
Sacred Esoteric Healing

Esoteric Massage

Esoteric Chakra-puncture

Esoteric Connective Tissue Therapy

Esoteric Breast Massage

Accreditation

The accreditation processes put in place by the EPA are second to none.

Accredited practitioners demonstrate competency in the techniques and mastership of the modalities as functionally applied. However, and most importantly, they also demonstrate integrity, professionalism and lived deep-care, both for themselves and others, in the firm knowing that the way that a practitioner lives, in their every day life, dictates and determines the quality of session and treatment which a client will receive.
All Esoteric Practitioners Association accredited practitioners ‘walk this talk’ thus a client who sees an EPA accredited practitioner is assured that their practitioner is living with energetic integrity.
This is a world first in terms of the level of integrity of practitioner, and it is the hallmark on which the EPA and its Code of Ethics and Conduct is founded. This code is exceptional and unparalleled in the industry of healthcare provision.
All practitioners must pass an annual assessment and demonstrate continuing professionalism, integrity and capability to the standard required by the Esoteric Practitioners Association in order to be reaccredited by the EPA. EPA accredited practitioners see this not as a burden but as an opportunity to deepen the quality that they offer to their clients.

Training and Study requirements

Esoteric Practitioners Association accredited practitioners are required to undertake formal practical training and study, in line with Government approved training packages, to gain accreditation with the EPA.

Preliminary studies take 2-3 years. They lay the solid foundation for the advanced courses:
  • Esoteric Massage
  • Esoteric Chakra-puncture
  • Esoteric Connective Tissue Therapy
  • Esoteric Breast Massage

  • Studies in Anatomy and Physiology, and Nutrition are essential to registration for the above mentioned modalities.

All students wishing to be accredited as EPA practitioners must agree to abide by the EPA Code of Ethics and Conduct under which EPA accredited practitioners agree to abstain from activities that would not support their treatment of clients including abstaining from alcohol and drugs.

The Esoteric Practitioners Association and conventional medicine

The EPA and its members regard conventional medicine with the highest respect and regard. The EPA is very much founded on the premise that conventional medicine is an essential part of healing. EPA accredited practitioners work hand in hand with conventional medicine, which makes the modalities truly complementary and in no way ‘alternative’. EPA accredited modalities are in no way a replacement for conventional medicine and no EPA accredited practitioner is qualified in and of the EPA accreditation to give a medical diagnosis. Referrals are made to doctors and specialists for the essential work which they do. The EPA accredited modalities offer a much needed support as part of the healing process as a whole.
This truly complementary approach has been greatly valued by clients, and medical practitioners alike.

Medical Advisor to the EPA

Eunice Minford is both a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh and a member of the Esoteric Practitioners Association (EPA), she has observed that for purposes of qualification and accreditation she is “called to live with a higher degree of personal responsibility and integrity by the EPA than I am by the Royal College of Surgeons such are the exacting standards and ethical code established by the EPA.”

Dr Minford observes:
It would be true to say that many doctors and health care professionals would currently fall short of the requirements called for by the EPA code of ethics and adds further weight to my statement that Universal Medicine is the world leader not just in complementary healthcare but in calling for a high degree of personal responsibility, integrity and ethical requirements by its practitioners.

For example, as a member of the EPA I agree to not consume alcohol or other toxins because of their effect on my wellbeing and how that then impacts others and the quality of care I can provide. Yet in the medical world, doctors have a higher rate of alcohol addiction than the general population.

What then is the quality of their presence and wellbeing at work and the effect of that on themselves and all they interact with? I know from personal experience that it is detrimentally affected. Imagine the reaction it would provoke if the ethical code for all doctors included not drinking alcohol because of the effect on their ability to deliver a high quality of care? There would be outrage. Yet, those who join the Esoteric Practitioners Association, choose to willingly abide by this code as a result of their personal level of responsibility, integrity, care for themselves and others and in recognition of the fact that their state of well being impacts the quality of care they can provide.

This is similar to the report demonstrating that fat doctors are less likely to give advice to or inspire fat patients to lose weight (http://healthland.time.com/2012/01/30/fat-doctors-are-less-likely-to-help-patients-lose-weight/) providing further evidence that how we live every day impacts not only our own health but our ability to care for and inspire others.

In my opinion, Universal Medicine is the world leader in complementary healthcare and in-depth understandings of the human being from an energetic and holistic perspective.
It is also the world leader in terms of establishing responsibility and integrity in one’s personal life as part and parcel of one’s professional life in recognition of the fact that how we live every day, every choice we make, comes with us to the work place and impacts our professional capacity.

The Esoteric Practitioners Association code of conduct is of the highest level of integrity of any code of professionalism that I have ever known. It holds both the practitioner and client in equal respect and care. It stipulates that integrity in all areas of living is required in order to be a practitioner, not just maintaining a superficial level of professionalism in the treatment room. True professionalism and care starts with the way that we conduct ourselves in our personal lives.

The Esoteric Practitioners Association code explicitly explains that practitioners of the Esoteric Modalities are not to make medical diagnoses and are not to interfere with any medically prescribed medicines. Practitioners are to at all times work with the medical profession and advise the client to seek medical advice and the appropriate medical diagnosis for any illness.

As a medical practitioner, I can attest to the high level of professionalism and care of the governing body of the EPA and their dedication to ensuring the highest level of professionalism and care in their practitioners is maintained, with a deep and true respect for conventional medicine. The EPA strictly states that its practitioners are to work in partnership with conventional medicine and in my opinion and experience this respect and dedication is unique to complementary health care and the healing arts and offers an open and true relationship for the medical profession to work hand in hand with EPA practitioners for the best care of their patients.

I would feel very comfortable for my patients who are seeking a complement to their medical care to see practitioners who are registered with the EPA as part of their health care program. I would rest assured knowing that they are receiving professional care of the highest integrity that is supportive of and encouraging of their ongoing medical care.

I see this organisation as an exemplar in true professionalism and care. I commend the EPA code of conduct highly to the medical profession. I feel it would support the medical profession to deliver great service to the community whilst supporting its medical professionals by adopting the loving and professional principles as outlined in the EPA code of conduct.
